CO a multiple of 8 stitches (minimum 16 sts). For example, you can cast on 8 x 3 = 24 stitches to knit a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):	* k6, p2; rep from * to end.
Row 2:	p1, * k2, p6; rep from * to last 7 sts, k2, p5.
Row 3:	k4, * p4, k6; rep from * to last 4 sts, p2, k2.
Row 4:	p3, * k2, p6; rep from * to last 5 sts, k2, p3.
Row 5:	k2, * p2, k6; rep from * to last 6 sts, p2, k4.
Row 6:	p5, * k2, p6; rep from * to last 3 sts, k2, p1.
Row 7:	Purl.
Row 8:	Rep Row 2.
Row 9:	Rep Row 3.
Row 10:	Rep Row 4.
Row 11:	Rep Row 5.
Row 12:	Rep Row 6.
Row 13:	* p2, k6; rep from * to end.
