3D Shell Crochet Stitch | Crochet with Aabhar

3D Shell Crochet stitch is a highly textured pattern that creates a reversible fabric, same on both sides. After the foundation row, it’s just a 1 row repeat, making it a simple pattern to learn. The motif is 4 stitch long.

The texture comes from the front post single crochet stitch between the double crochet shell stitch motifs.

Pattern Instructions

Foundation ch: (Multiple of 4) + 1, plus 1 beg ch.
For example, start with (4 x 5) + 1 + 1 = 22 ch for a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):	1sc in 2nd ch from hook, * 1sc in next ch; rep from * to end, turn.
Row 2:	ch1, 1sc in 1st sc, ch2, 4dc in same sc, * sk next 3 sc, [1sc, ch2, 4dc] in next sc; rep from * to last 4 sc, sk next 3 sc and 1sc in last sc, turn.
Row 3:	ch1, 1sc in 1st sc, ch2, 4dc in same sc, * sk next 3 dc, 1fpsc in next dc, ch2, 4dc in next ch2-sp; rep from * to last shell, sk next 3 dc, 1fpsc in next dc, 1sc in last sc, turn.

Repeat Row 3 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
