1×1 Lace Rib knitting stitch is quite similar to the Single Lace Rib pattern, but it repeats over 2 rows and is more open and airy. The pattern is perfect for knitting shawls and wraps. The knitted fabric is not very stretchy but looks delicate and elegant.

Pattern Instructions


CO (Multiple of 4 stitches) + 1 stitch. For example, you can cast on (4 x 5) + 1 = 21 stitches to knit a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):k1, * yo, k2tog, p1, k1; rep from * to end.
Row 2:p1, * yo, p2tog, k1, p1; rep from * to end.

Repeat this free knit pattern (2 rows) until you have reached the desired length for your work.
