Lacy Half Shell Crochet stitch is an easy one, perfect for beginners. The stitch is somewhat similar to the Half Shell crochet stitch but with much more open spaces, making the resulting fabric very lacy.
Each motif is spread over 8 stitches and repeats every 2 rows. All you need to know to make this one is single and double crochet stitches.

Pattern Instructions
Foundation ch: (Multiple of 8) + 1, plus 1 beg ch.
For example, start with (8 x 3) + 1 + 1 = 26 ch for a sample swatch.
| Row 1 (RS): | 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, * sk next 3 ch, 4dc in next ch, ch3, sk next 3 ch, 1sc in next ch; rep from * to end, turn. |
| Row 2: | ch6, 1sc in 1st dc, * ch7, sk next 3 dc, 1sc in next dc; rep from * to last 4 sts, ch3, sk next 3 dc, 1dc in last sc, turn. |
| Row 3: | ch1, 1sc in 1st dc, * 4dc in next sc, ch3, 1sc in 4th ch of next ch7-sp; rep from * to last t-ch, ch3, 1sc in 3rd ch of t-ch, turn. |
Repeat Rows 2 & 3 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
